Title: Feminist pathways to well-being economy: Gender justice in the era of polycrisis
Speaker: Naila Kabeer (Professor  Emeritus, Department of International Development & Faculty of International Inequalities Institute, London School of Economics.)
Abstract:
Rising economic inequalities and accelerating climate change are the central challenges of our time. Recognition of their shared roots in the current market-driven pursuit of economic growth has given rise to the search for a more just economic paradigm. However, less attention has been paid to gender inequality in this literature and to its interaction with these other forms of injustice. This presentation addresses this gap in our knowledge and draws out some of the ways that our research programme hopes to contribute to carving out feminist pathways to an economic system that prioritizes the wellbeing of people and planet.
